Juicing the Right Way (or You Could Harm Your Health)


If you're into juicing, then here are some quick rules that you need to follow





  1. Not All Greens Belong in Your Juicer


While spinach, kale, and other leafy greens seem healthy, they’re rich in oxalates, which can bind with calcium in your body and lead to kidney stones.

Ayurveda recommends avoiding juicing high-oxalate greens regularly.

  1. Some Veggies Shouldn’t Be Juiced


Not every vegetable is suited for juicing.


Focus on select vegetables that are fiber-rich, hydrating, and digestible in raw form.

  1. Never Mix Fruits & Veggies in Juicing


Fruits are high in sucrose and fructose, natural sugars that ferment quickly.

Mixing them with veggies can disrupt digestion.


Ayurvedic tip: Eat your fruits, don’t juice them. And juice veggies separately.

  1. For Gut Detox: Ash Gourd Juice


Ash gourd is powerful for cleansing your entire gut — the small intestine, large intestine, and colon.

Drink immediately after juicing. It contains ascorbic acid, which oxidizes fast and can turn toxic.

Avoid if you have a cold, cough, or sinus — it's very cooling.


  1. Liver Detox: ABC Juice, the Ayurvedic Way


The classic “ABC” juice gets a twist:


A = Amla (not Apple)

B = Beetroot

C = Carrot


Apples and veggies don’t mix in Ayurveda.


Amla (Indian gooseberry) is more compatible, loaded with Vitamin C, and less sugary.
